Special Olympic events and programs focus on encouraging all Special Olympics athletes, aged from 8 to 80, to achieve and learn through sport.
Through this, the athletes are able to benefit from whole of life opportunities that surpass the competition.

There is a focus on building and normalising the idea of inclusion and participation for athletes with intellectual disabilities.
Athletes are able to experience the moments of joy, dignity and pride that come with being part of the Special Olympics community.
