Chief’s Challenge

Now in its third year, the annual Chief’s Challenge was once again held on and around December 3rd 2021, aligning with International Day of People With Disability (IDPwD).

A variety of Chief’s Challenge events took place across Victoria, with many of these promoted on Yammer for the first time.

From morning teas, school visits, bake-offs and even the worlds longest paperchain, it was fantastic to see the innovative and wide-ranging events that police personnel took part in all of which are outlined in the attached “Chiefs Challenge Outcomes” document.

Even the simplest of events develops and enhances local connections of police with special schools and Special Olympics Victoria clubs and programs and builds awareness and understanding of local police within the ID sector and broader community, breaking down barriers and misapprehensions people with intellectual disability can have of authority figures.
